Size: 50 × 100 cm on a stretched cotton canvas, ready to hang.
Medium: Spray paints, acrylics and oil pastels
Story: King of Flowers marks a turning point in my practice. A moment where everything clicked into place and I stopped holding back! Built from instinctive mark making, colour choice, and dance like movement, this piece captures the sensory richness of my neurodivergent mind, where ADHD and synesthesia overlap and translate into a bold, expressive visual language.
The peony (long considered the “king of flowers”) rises through layers of texture and joy, becoming both subject and symbol: strength, beauty, and unapologetic presence. This work became the catalyst for my latest collection, EXTRA.
It gave me permission to be louder, freer, and more honest, without worrying about how the work would be received. Instead of editing myself, I leaned in! Embracing the mess, the emotion, and the joy of making. Everything that followed came from that shift. EXTRA exists because this piece showed me what happens when I trust my instincts fully, and let the work be exactly what it needs to be.
