Story: Synaesthesia is where everything overlaps. Colour, feeling, memory, and sensation all exist at once, blurring into a single, vivid experience. Bold abstract movement collides with detailed florals, creating a space where nothing sits still and everything is connected.
Built through instinct and layered mark making, this piece reflects how I experience the world. Inputs do not arrive neatly or one at a time, they merge, echo, and amplify each other. What you see is a visual translation of that sensory crossover, where emotion becomes colour and movement becomes form.
This work holds the energy at the heart of EXTRA. It is playful, intense, and unapologetically full. It allowed me to lean fully into my neurodivergent way of seeing, not as something to refine or quiet, but as something to celebrate and expand.
With Synaesthesia, I stopped trying to separate things out and instead embraced the overwhelm, the richness, and the beauty within it.
At its core, this piece is about connection, between senses, emotions, and experiences, and the power of letting them exist together without needing to simplify them.
