Medium: Acrylic and homemade texture paste on recycled board inside a 40+ year old decorative frame.

Story: This was originally a painting and frame by my Great Uncle Ken, November 1992. The board and frame were damaged and due to be thrown out when he passed on. I rescued it and saved it for the last decade to finally add my own work to the board this year (2026) once I’d fixed it.

This work honours the dedication it takes to “Follow Your Passion” against the odds. Passion flowers are so fascinating to look at, with delicate details that make them almost alien like! It was a challenge to capture the essence of these flowers, but I loved how it turned out! This colour palette feel powerful and joyful, two things that are important in the pursuit of one’s passion.
